José and Virginia Gallardo "Señor José Orchestra," Photographs
José Gallardo was the leader of a group of musicians known as José Gallardo and his Orchestra who performed in Corpus Christi and across South Texas from the 1920s to the 1950s. Eight photographs of the band comprise this small collection.

Murphy Givens South Texas Historical Papers
Murphy Givens was a newspaper journalist who had worked in Alabama, Missouri, and Michigan when he came to Corpus Christi in 1981 to work for the “Corpus Christi Caller Times.” He began writing a weekly column on South Texas History in 1998. He worked as the Viewpoints Editor until 2009 and continued writing history columns until 2018. Givens published 18 books on Texas history and presented on KEDT recounting stories from his history columns.
Phyllis Yochem papers
The papers include “Bird Notes”, a column Phyllis Yochem wrote for the Corpus Christi Caller Times. Yochem took over writing the column in 1990 when birding columnist and founder of "Bird Notes" Kay McCracken retired. Included are news clippings of Kay McCracken’s “Bird Notes” for the years 1975 to 1990. Other nature and environmental articles from various authors during the same time are covered.
Rachel Bluntzer Hebert papers
Rachel Bluntzer Hebert lived through most of the 20th century. She was a teacher, author, and historian who focused on San Patricio County in South Texas in her writings and research. The papers deal with family and local history from the old San Patricio settlement and county.
Sonia Trevino collection of Corpus Christi Mexican-American Democrats Records
These records were donated by Sonia Trevino who was president of the Corpus Christi Chapter of Mexican American Democrats in 1994. They include administrative papers, the constitution and by-laws, correspondence and events.

W. E. Pope Papers
Walter Elmer Pope was a Corpus Christi attorney, real estate developer, civic leader, and state representative from South Texas. The collection includes 70 linear feet of papers from Pope’s legal practice and business office, as well as his correspondence as a state legislator. The majority of the documents were created between 1850-1944; a few biographical items circa 1960s-1980s are included.
