Abstract

Johnnie H. Mitchell served as Nueces County sheriff from 1957 to 1977. Before serving as sheriff, he served as an FBI agent. The papers include nine scrapbooks concentrating on politics, elections, law enforcement, and crime in Corpus Christi and South Texas during the mid-1900s. Other materials include photographs and campaign memorabilia.
