Anita Eisenhauer, long-time member, and past Chairman of the Nueces County Historical Commission, was passionately interested in the history of South Texas. Her collection of historical postcards includes images of South Texas, Corpus Christi in particular, courthouses, holidays, hurricanes, Port Isabel, and military events in WWI and WWII.

Abstract

Anna Mariá Canales was the first assistant artist employed at the Falcon Foundry Studio in Ricardo, Texas by Roberto Garcia Jr., the artist of the bronze Dr. Hector P. Garcia statue now standing in the Garcia Plaza at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Her photographs document the step by step process of the creation of the sculpture and of the groundbreaking ceremony in 1995.

Arturo Vasquez served as a financial advisor to Hector P. Garcia’s American G.I. Forum chapter. His collection includes information about his personal, military, and professional life as a CPA. He served as a School Board Trustee for the Corpus Christi Independent School District and other municipal and business organizations. Hispanic-American civil rights during the middle 20th century features heavily in this collection.

Asa M. French Surveying Field Books

Abstract

Asa Milton French was a Corpus Christi area surveyor and engineer that surveyed much of Nueces County, Texas. He also commissioned the building of one of the most historic homes in Corpus Christi, the French-Galvan House. This collection consists of six of his field books that are packed with notes, figures, and drawings from surveying the area.
