Content Description This collection consists of a partial 1967 letter from a mother to her son while he was a student at the University of Corpus Christi and three unrelated black and white photographs. A 1940 photograph is of a woman sitting on the beach in a bathing suit. A 1930s-1940s era photograph is of a woman holding a puppy. A 1909 photograph is of a band playing. These items were found together in April 2018 in a filing cabinet in the Center for the Arts building at Texas A&M University-Corpus...

Gross collection consists of stock certificates for Texas Land and Title Company and Guaranty Title Company, and a book containing list of stockholders, meeting minutes, and bylaws of the Texas Land and Title Company as well as postcards. Some of the postcards show the damage done to Corpus Christi by a storm that came ashore on the Texas Gulf Coast in its vicinity on September 14, 1919. Content Description

Mayor Luther Jones served eight years as mayor, ending in 1987, he also once served as commander of the Corpus Christi Army Depot. During his tenure as mayor, Corpus Christi acquired Naval Station Ingleside and the Texas State Aquarium, a new city hall and a new central library were built. Included in the collection are documents relating to the establishment of a four-year university in Corpus Christi, awards, plaques, campaign records, photos and correspondence.

Manuel Narvaez Papers

Content Description

Manuel Narvaez, a pioneer of the Hispanic people in human rights and educations, preserved documents, publications and news clippings on the Cisneros v Corpus Christi Independent School District case and its ruling by Discrit Court Judge Woodrow Seals in 1970. The ruling was in favor of the plaintiffs and was a landmark case for Mexican American civil rights against segregation and discrimination in the public schools.
