Vietnam War Casualties - Corpus Christi, Texas, 1968 - 1975
The Subject Files represent research compiled by Dr. Hector P. Garcia on various topics in which the American GI Forum had a special interest. Notable topics include the Coors Boycott, the Diaz Infante case, Frito Bandito, housing, Hurricane Celia relief, Padre Island, the Vietnam War, and World War II. There are many files about Vietnam War casualties, which include casualty notices and telegrams about local soldiers, particularly Mexican-American soldiers, killed in combat, as well as copies of condolence letters Dr. Garcia sent to families on behalf of the AGIF. Other record types include clippings, congressional records, correspondence, press releases, petition forms, brochures, pamphlets, legal reports, testimonies, telegrams, and memoranda. This sub-series also includes undated clippings about the AGIF. Files relating to specific AGIF events can be found in Sub-Series E: Events.
