Abstract

Collection mostly consisting of photographs from very early 1900s to 1980s from the life and times of the Corpus Christi Talbert family.

Biographical / Historical

William Laurel Talbert was born on September 15, 1926, in Corpus Christi, Texas. His parents Milam and Oma Bugher Talbert owned Milam O. Talbert and Son Farms. Talbert graduated for Corpus Christi High School later completed a Doctorate in Accounting from The University of Texas. He worked as an accountant in Chicago, and a Professor of Accounting at Georgia State University. He passed away in 1990 after a long illness and is buried in Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi.

Arrangement

This is a small collection, and it is arranged into eight Files, two Record Groups, and one Series. The Series is for the photographs, which make up the bulk of the collection.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

This collection was assembled by Dan E. Kilgore, who acted as executor after the passing of William Talbert. He donated it to the Special Collections and Archives Department of Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi on September 11, 1991, and was assisted by Dr. Thomas Kreneck
