Charles F. H. von Blucher Family Papers

Abstract

This collection contains over a century of material from one of the first Prussian families to permanently settle in Corpus Christi. The family arrived in Corpus Christi in 1849, and Felix Hans Hellmuth von Blucher became the first Nueces County Surveyor. Three generations of the Blucher family served Nueces County as surveyors across a span of a hundred years.

Emory, Young & Associates Campaign Records

Abstract

These records comprise materials from three campaigns for which the Austin-based Emory, Young & Associates served as campaign consultants. There are materials on Senator Carlos F. Truan’s 1986 Governor for a Day event and his Block Captain Program, Vilma Luna campaign materials and election data (1993-2001), and the Forward Corpus Christi 2002 bond proposition campaign.

Abstract

This collection contains information about state representative DeWitt Hale and his long legislative career in the Texas House of Representatives. Hale was a champion of education, equal rights, and served as a delegate to the Texas Constitutional Convention in 1974.
