The collection contains documents and correspondence petitioning members of the House of Representative to change a post office name to Dr. Hector P. Garcia, newspaper clippings, Garcia genealogy, pamphlets, brochures, invitations and many publications pertaining to the American G.I. Forum from 1985 to 1998.

Roberto G. Salinas was a colleague of Dr. Hector P. Garcia. He petitioned members of Congress to have a post office in Corpus Christi and a holiday named after Dr. Garcia. This collection includes many publications of the American G.I. Forum.

Roberto G. Salinas was a colleague of Dr. Hector P. Garcia and worked with him in the American G.I. Forum for civil rights for the Hispanic people.
