Series II: Correspondence, 1943 - 1996
This series includes personal and professional correspondence received by Dr. Hector P. Garcia, as well as carbon copies of letters sent. Subjects may include job references, requests for assistance, invitations to speak, or discussions about the city of Corpus Christi, civil rights, and the Mexican-American community. Prominent correspondents include state and local government representatives, senators, and US Presidents. Correspondence directly relating to the American GI Forum can be found in Series V: American GI Forum (AGIF), Sub-Series C: Correspondence. Personal correspondence with immediate family can be found in Series I: Personal Files. Professional correspondence is spread throughout other series of the collection based on subject.
