Department of the Army Certificate of Appreciation for Patriotic Civilian Service, 1973 - 1975
Dr. Hector P. Garcia’s military service, medical practice, civilian service, activism, and founding of the American GI Forum (AGIF) earned him many awards and honors. He was presented with numerous certificates of appreciation by organizations nationwide and several cities across the United States proclaimed "Dr. Hector P. Garcia Day" in his honor. He also was honored with several awards and dedications posthumously. The most notable awards and honors include his medical diploma, his certificate for the Bronze Star Medal, and his certificate for the Presidential Medal of Freedom given by President Ronald Reagan.
