Sub-Series A: People Files, 1933 - 1992
The People Files document the many people in whom Dr. Garcia took a personal interest, ranging from politicians, activists, members of the military, prominent members of the Latino community, and significant figures in Texas or Latino history. These primarily consist of clippings, publications about the person of interest, publications by the person of interest, and correspondence by third parties regarding the person of interest. Notable people include Lloyd Bentsen, Tony Bonilla, William Bonilla, J. A. “Tony” Canales (Dr. Garcia’s nephew), Jose Cisneros, John Connally, James De Anda, Henry B. Gonzalez, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Dr. George I. Sanchez, and Vicente Ximenes. Images of a number of individual people whom Dr. Garcia knew or kept files on can be found in Series IX: Photographic Materials.
