Abstract

Dee Woods was a Corpus Christi writer and writing advocate and was actively involved in civic work. Her work appears in over one hundred publications, and she founded the Southwest Writer’s Conference, which brought writers, publishers, agents, and editors from around the nation to Corpus Christi. This collection shows her dedication to bringing people together and reflects her many contributions to the region.

Gigi Starnes is a writer, artist, small business owner, and historian that has dedicated much of her life to researching and documenting South Texas history. This collection is centered on her research into Corpus Christi’s Dragon Grill and downtown Irishtown development.
