Jane Revel Franklin Johnson Collection

Overview Jane Revel Franklin Johnson has had an adventurous life in East Texas as a child and young woman, then in traveling with her husband Jeff Franklin, a professional builder who built courthouses, schools, and municipal buildings throughout Texas and the South. After his death she married Fremont Johnson in Aransas Pass. They traveled to Europe, were active in many civic organizations, she immersed herself in writing and learning genealogy. Jane passed away at the age of 103 in 2020.

Content Description The John W. Tunnell, M.D. Texana collection consists of over three hundred books and other titles dealing with Texas and local history. Many of these items relate to the Nueces County/San Patricio County region. While the Tunnell Collection contains many standard Texana reference works, it also contains 2 document boxes of obscure local pamphlets, periodicals, maps, brochures, and other printed ephemera dealing with Taft, Sinton, Mathis and surrounding areas.

Jose Cisneros collection

Scope and Contents The Jose Cisneros collection consists of twelve cubic feet of public documents from the court case including the court reporter's transcripts of the proceedings, records of appeals, numerous exhibits, and other items. The Jose Cisneros collection represents a voluminous record of an important legal event in post World War II Mexican American history.

A 1940 photograph is of a woman sitting on the beach in a bathing suit. A 1930s-1940s era photograph is of a woman holding a puppy. A 1909 photograph is of a band playing.
