This collection consists of over 300 photographs, newspapers, concert posters, correspondence, scrapbooks, obituaries, wedding invitations, ephemera, biographical narratives, business cards, and marriage certificates ranging from the late 1800’s to the early 2000’s. It is for the most part geographically confined to the South Texas region, although there are minor exceptions.

Esther Bonilla Read is a writer and former educator in public and private schools. In 2022, she received the Lifetime Achievement award presented to her by the YWCA of Corpus Christi. The collection includes 73 typed transcripts and 40 mini-cassette tapes based on interviews from Mexican Americans and others during 2002-2004.

Thomas Lloyd Goad Papers

Thomas Lloyd Goad was an active Corpus Christi luminary, businessman, academic, and man of many talents. He was a World War II veteran, the owner of Goad Cadillac, and helped create the Alumni Association for Corpus Christi State University before it was absorbed into the Texas A&M System. This collection covers much of his time in Texas before relocating to Virginia in the early 1990’s.
