This small collection contains Vicente Carranza’s contributions as radio talk show host and activist to the Hispanic community of Corpus Christi from 1993 to 1997.

Biographical / Historical

Vicente Carranza was born in January of 1940. He served in the military and obtained a college education. Married with three children he is noted for hosting a talk radio show in the 1990’s on KUNO-AM 1400, titled “Verdades y Chismes.” In 2006 he hosted “Moctemoc Door,” on crosstown AIR AMERICA RADIO affiliate Talk KCCT-A for a brief time. Carranza’s delivery was in both Spanish and English as he discussed significant community issues, played classical music, and became known for his strong opinions. His mission was to keep the Hispanic community aware of current issues.
