Abstract

These papers, which include genealogical documents, photographs, marriage certificates, and other documents pertaining to the Lozano, Galvan, and Medina families, were collected by Rene Guzman Glover.

Biographical / Historical

The Rene Guzman Glover collection cover a variety of documents, ranging from genealogical information to marriage records, all pertaining to the Medina, Longoria, and Galvan families. These families were influential in the Mexican American community. The Galvan family were especially influential, as Rafael Galvan, Sr. was a founding member of LULAC, the League of United Latin American Citizens.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Rene Guzman Glover on February 6, 2003, donated genealogical data, copies of birth and marriage certificates, family tree documents, phootographs, copies of wills, oral history notes and comments, clippings, and other documents dealing with the Lozano, Medina, Galvan, and related families to the Special Collections and Archives at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
