Brandt Badger to Callie Badger, written from Camp Waul, 1862-07-01
Brandt’s campmates envy the amount of letters he receives regularly. He complains of “Negroes” stealing the rails off of the railroad tracks, of general sickness in the camp, and the fact that his mare is now lame. Envelope addressed to “Mrs. Callie Badger, Gonzales, Texas,” in left bottom corner- “Kinship of Mrs. Major Willis”.
