Brandt tells of life in Preach Tree and how all the boys seem to be joining the Rangers. He complains of numerous births in the town and plans to visit Callie and Jennie soon. The letter is addressed to “Miss Callie Jones, Gonzales, Texas,” upper left hand corner: “Palo Alto, April 13th, Gonzales, James Ramsey”.
