McGregor, Doc- 2 negatives of McGregor with photo he took of the Constitution. J.F. "Doc" McGregor stands in Caller- Times in October, 1951. McGregor took an estimated million photographs of Corpus Christi during a 35-year span. Many of the photographs that appeared in the Caller-Times during the 1930s were taken by McGregor. McGregor, in October,1959, stands by an enlarged photo he took of the Constitution, the famous warship of the war of 1812, when it visited the port of Corpus Christi in February, 1932, 1959 October 06

Givens research papers include all his published columns, radio broadcasts and monographs with the preceding manuscripts and research notes he amassed during each work. The collection contains newspaper clippings and journal articles about South Texas history from the early 1700s to 2020. Topics include towns, pioneer families, military commanders, early ranchers, the Mexican American War, Texas Revolution, Civil War, and the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi. Corpus Christi people, churches, buildings, and institutions are extensively covered in the research.
