The series contains materials that Dr. Hector P. Garcia found important and that pertained to his personal life. Dr. Garcia had a very active personal life; he was a husband, father, brother, uncle, and citizen of Corpus Christi, Texas. The materials in this series include personal correspondence between himself and various family members, records detailing his personal interests and activities, family records, invitations to events that he may have attended, and numerous certificates and proclamations that he received throughout his life.
